XREF in v.2018

Anonymous

Hello.

Using the v.2018 I have problem inserting an X-ref.

In the insert-window I can see the preview of the drawing I want to insert, but when pressing 'ok' I get the Message that the drawing can't be found ...

I use Win10.

It is'nt very satifactory having to open the drawing in v.2017 to get it done!

Nothing has changed in 2018 at all, it's still the same function. Relying on a preview is no indication the file is valid or where you think it is: why not use OPEN command to open this file, ensure it's working wall, then open your destination file and try XREF again.

Thank's for answering.

Yes, I have checked the file is ok.

As I indicated in my question, I am able to Xref the drawing to the destination file if I open it in 2017 LT.

Suspecting there is a bug in my current installation, is there a 'simple' way to reinstall the 2018?

You can first try the 'Reset settings to default' function.

If that doesn't work try Repair through Control Panel -> Programs

If that fails try a reinstall/clean install.

Hi @Anonymous,

You can repair the software installation using these instructions, if you think there's something wrong with the install. I'd recommend trying this before a complete uninstall/reinstall of the software.

Let us know if this helps!
