Wipeoutframe variable going rogue - AutoCAD LT 2026

Hi, new to the forums, hopefully I'm posting in the right place. Relocate post if otherwise.

I've been having an issue lately where my WIPEOUTFRAME variable will reset itself to 1.
It is typically 0 and stays that way. Even leaving the drawing open and publishing multiple times, if the first publish comes out correct there is chance the variable will swap for a followup publish.

I was of the understanding the variable is set per-drawing and have taken measures to ensure company templates are set to 0.

I first encountered the issue after an update using AutoCAD 2023, currently using AutoCAD LT 2026 where this problem persists.

Interestingly the wipeout frame will not actually become visible in model space, giving no clue that the variable has changed. Even after REGEN, frame is still not visible but will plot.

It appears to change randomly.
Is this just a known issue?

Is there a fix?

@mitchellhughes If you are asking how to turn wipeout frames back on, it's this command, which setting do you have? I exclusively use the setting of 2

There is a "toggle" option, explained here

Are you aware wipeout settings are per-DRAWING, not a system wide setting? That may explain why you experience inconsistencies, nothing is broken

To keep track of variable settings changing you must set them up to how you want them first using SYSVARMONITOR command (this is true for LT2023 through LT2026, and much older versions too). In fact you should be adding all of those critical system variable settings to that list: it will prompt you when one of more change, and you can reset this quite quickly afterwards

Here is my long list of variables I never want to ever change for me in AutoCAD

SYSVARMONITOR command appears to be helping the issue.
While the source of why the variable change is occurring remains unknown, this command is at least identifying when the change occurs.

Update 10/09/2025: After a month of use, the variables for WIPOUTFRAME, XCLIPFRAME, PDFFRAME, & IMAGEFRAME continue to be randomly changed, sometimes all or sometimes just one or two of those variables. The change seems to trigger upon opening a second drawing or changing between multiple open .dwgs.
