Using a Terminal Server

Can AutoCAD LT be installed on a terminal server 2012 R2 standard for multiple users to use it?

You will need to purchase a special license of AutoCAD, not LT, for the privilege: contact a reseller in your area and talk ab out price and licensing options www.autodesk.com/resellers/locate-a-reseller

no you cannot this would require a network license of Autocad LT which is only available to Enterprise customers

As mentioned in previous post's you will need to attain a licenses.

To add I'd suggest you look to a reseller in your area for additional support on this matter. AutoCAD LT 2017 on Terminal Server

Hi @Anonymous,

As others have stated, network licensing is not available for AutoCAD LT products. In addition, AutoCAD in Terminal Server (running an application Server) is also in violation of the End User License Agreement.  Remote application services are approved for a Citrix environment.

Here is a list of Citrix supported applications.

Is there a reason you missed the Autodesk staffer stating...
"In addition, AutoCAD in Terminal Server (running an application Server) is also in violation of the End User License Agreement"

Ok, thanks for the answer. I thought Autodesk solved this situation, our infrastructure is based on TS, so we need an app working on TS. I really don't understand the reason why using in TS is a violation as long as: SLM is limited to two instances in TS, in NLM you ca use only for the number of NLM licenses you bought. Thus, technically, no way to violate the T&C in the EULA.

We tested and already found other cad apps working in TS and we will use them until Autodesk will update the Eula giving the right to use in TS, also, for the NLM licenses.

Please note that Microsoft developed a special feature for Office to work on TS. So, please, check if Autodesk have some future plans regarding TS.

Thanks!

>>>...Microsoft developed a special feature for Office...<<<
This is not an MSOffice product.

Until Autodesk changes its licensing structure of course.

Autodesk didn't say it doesn't work they are saying if you do this it violates their license agreement

Regarding your statement, "This is not an MSOffice product.", please check https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Deploy-Office-365-ProPlus-by-using-Remote-Desktop-Services-....

Actually, they are stating that it doesn't work. Also, using this way is a violation of the license agreement.

I aleady tested the SLM version and, yes, it is limited to 2 instances. Didn't try the NLM version as there aren't any trials for the NLM, nor the monthly subscriptions, only the one for 12 months.
