Trimming command in AutoCAD 2025

I've just upgraded to AutoCAD 2025 and am having problems with the new trim command. If I chose the option for cutting edges my selection tool for trimming is the lasso which I don't want. How can I use trim with the cutting edges option and use a selection window instead. I have already deselected "Allow press and drag for lasso" in Options / Selection.

How old a version back did you last use? I'm wondering if you just need to turn off "quickmode" like it says in HELP in 2025

My last version was 2018 - Yes! Turning off quick mode restored the trim command close to how it was in the older version.
