Text in a circle

The company that I work for is allied to the building trade and we produce detail that are annotated with a detail number, a drawing number reference and these are usually contained within a circle.

Does any one know of a way of putting text inside a circle? or do I have to draw a circle and then add text to it?

Find the sample drawings which are shipped with AutoCAD. You should be able to find a block in one of them which suits your needs

Here are my detail callouts that I use.  I made it like I wanted, then made a wblock out of it.  I draw a leader without a hook and insert the block at the endpoint of the leader.  The one that ends in L is for inserting on the left of the leader and R for the right side.  Drag the blocks into your palette and then right click Properties and in the command string line put this macro:  ^C^C_INSERT Udetr _endpoint.  There is probably a better method, but this has worked for me.

Hope this helps.

In addition to other tips... MLEADER command comes with predefined CIRCLES with Numbers and more: explore.

Gentlemen

Thank you to all three of you for your help.

I know that some of the questions can seem inane but you start off and use the commands once and then once it is set up you forget about them.

Again many thanks to all 3 of you!!!!!!!

Nothing really to do with this post but every time that Kudos is awarded to a contributor it shows as 2. Just an observation - is there a glitch with the sight?

@Slawomir_ I hope you realize you are answering in a two year old thread, and also in the LT forum where express tools are not available.

Yes, I realized that right after posting my two cents...

My approach would be to create a circle/square/hexagon Block with a text Attribute Definition (with Middle-Center alignment in the shape). This way, upon inserting the block, a dialogue would ask for the text tag for each tag shape.
