Text and dimensions in model space with mulitiple scales

I have multiple details and scales in model space. When i change from one scale (eg 1/4 = 1'-0 to 3"=1'-0") the text and dimensions on the other different scales get bigger and the mtext with a leader on some jump all over the place. I always set my dims and text to "annotate". What is causing this and how can i fix it as this could be a problem in paper space when i notice some of the text and dims intrude in other view ports. So far to fix i set the drawing scale in model space to 6"=1'-0 when i am done and this reduces the problem from over lapping into other details. Thanks

The scale in model space has nothing to do with the drawing scale, everything should be drawn full size in model space. The scale ín model space is for your annotative dimensions and notes which is why they all change when you change the 'scale'.

One is 1/8 = 1'-0 and the other is 1 1/3 = 1'-0

Make sure the icon ringed in the image below is not selected (not blue) and your problem should go away. It's for showing all items at all relevant scales.

You are using annotative text/dims and appear to not quite understand their strengths and weaknesses.

To address the weakness you see, go here, set this to 1:1 then back to whatever plot-scale you wish to work in while in modelspace
