Slow switching between layouts Autocad LT 2023

When switching between model and paperspace, or between tabs the software seems to take a while to think about it. A similar thing can happen when saving.

This tells me that it has something to do with a full regen before a save or autosave. I also noticed that some internet pages with large graphics seemed quite slow.

This appears to have been a repeated issue with many versions but is happening now with AutoCAD LT 2023 on Windows 11 on a clients machine.

The Graphics card is an Nvidia Geforce Rtx3080 on a new "CAD Spec" machine running Windows 11.

The machine came from a Microsoft and HP authorised supplier with autodesk experience\, even though they complete ignore my requests to spec Quaddro cards.

The only difference between this machine and an identical spec machine is Windows 11. so i reckon that is the issue.

Has anyone else experienced this?

I suspect it is a disconnect between windows 11 and the Nvidia hardware, but i would like to discount alternative possibilities first.

Read this https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Slow-p...

You might also need to set GFXDX12 variable to 0 (that's a zero) then restart AutoCAD/LT: reverting to DirectX11 can help overtaxed video cards too.

Contact them if nothing works.

Thanks for this

I've been through everything on the advice sheet and it is still slow.

I also noticed it is slow to save too. In fact quick save isn't quick at all.

Where do you store your files, and how are you connected to that location if not on the same computer?

If all files are local/on this computer, does disconnecting from the internet/wifi/bluetooth solve the problem?
