SHX file

i am trying to use an shx file that i downloaded. i copied it into the folder that stores the fonts as per some research that i did. the file is in there but still wont show up on my styles dropdown when i am in a drawing. do i need to download a driver or something for this file to be read? or do you have any other suggestions as to what i am doing wrong?

thanks,

joey

First off, there are two types of SHX files. Some are fonts and some are shapes. They are not interchangeable.

If you're sure this is a font SHX file, as long as AutoCAD can find it in the support file search path, it should show up as an available FONT (not textstyle).

If you're not sure about shape vs. font, post the file here.

In addition to the info above... Where did you copy it to exactly? if you're sure it'a a font file (and not a shape file) of course.
