Same layer, different lineweight

This has happened a few times already and it was very frustrating since I couldn't figure out what the problem was. It's a simple axo drawing and I only have a few layers with different thicknesses. But when I went to print out my drawings there would be random lines with different thicknesses than what is supposed to be. There are no double lines and each layer is a different color. For example, I set my profile line to be 0.50 lineweight but some of those lines are way thinner and the drawing looks terrible. The whole drawing is like that.
Any idea what it could be???

Not enough detailed info, and I see no file sample posted. So let's play the guessing game:

LWEIGHT command settings can be assigned by object as an override, PLINEs can also have widths, and if you use plot style tables these could be a third thing to examine for a source to the problem.

Assuming you are not plotting to PDF and the actual problem is simply how your PDF viewer is displaying line work.

Which is it?
