Product key does not work ???

hi there, 

i have just finished downloading CAD14 LT and started to install .... 

from the email I got from the student community I have copied and pasted serial number which was ok (green tick) however the product key is not ok(showing red cross) ... what am i doing wrong???

I replied to the student community email but it seems that my email cannot be delivered. 

Can you please help me with the correct product key. Ta

i figurged it out!!!

the product key was for LT16, not LT14

luckely there is a product key list under serial numbers and product keys (right side of the screen)

panic over!

got to the activation stage... but apparently now the serial number is not ok... 

why it is so difficult ???? it seems that LT16 and Lt 14 have overlaping key products and serial number

please help

Hi @Anonymous Welcome to Autodesk Community!

 

For safetly reason I have removed your screenshots as they were showing your serial numbers. Please do not reveal your serial numbers in public. 

 

According to our records you have two student versions: AutoCAD 2014 and AutoCAD LT 2016, both with the same serial number. Make sure you enter the correct product key for the product you have installed. Please find below lists of product keys available from our website:

Don't cut/paste the serial number: that usually adds a blank space, which looks like an extra number. Type it manually instead.

I did not requested cad16 but just 14 LT
so will try again today... might uninstall all and start from scratch
what is the installation - activation code....? that i need to request from autodesk???
do i need separate code on top do the serial number and product key?

do I need to install full AUtocad for the LT version. 

at the beinging on the main manue there is no option of dowloading only LT

Hi @Anonymous,

 

AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT are completely separate installations. You do not need one to have the other. Try downloading from the virtual agent if you are having difficulties.

i am really strugglling with the instalation: 

 

i tried to download several version CAD16 and CAD16 Lt as well as CAD14LT

 

i am really not very familiar with the downloading and starting it up but i followed the Vertual Agent to download the CAD version. 

1. when a file is downloaded it is downloaded in DOWLOADS

2. Clicking the download i have started the self extract which actually saves the extract on C drive under AUTODESK. 

however when I try to open any drawing I get the message that the drawing cannot be open as the CAD is not saved under C:/programme files/Autodesk/AutocadLT2014.acadlt.exe

 

i tried to copy instalation file from C drive to the programm files - it didit work 

i tried to change the path for the self extract - so I do not save it under C:/Autodesk but on the C:/programme files/Autodesk/AutocadLT2014.acadlt.exe

it didnt work ... self extract just didnt move at all...

 

my laptop is very slow now so I have finally deleted all references that has AUTOCAD and AUTODESK in it name... however there are files that cannot be deleted as they need ADMINISTRATOR permission... 

I am using my own laptop so do not know what that means... 

My laptop works on Windows 7

 

As I am struggling to download CAD I wonder if there is a phone number I can call to talk with somebody inperson...

Hi @Anonymous,

 

You need to make sure you are the administrator on the computer and that you are installing it on the C drive. Here is how to resolve the 1603 error which is indicated in the log. If you are still getting an invalid product key, could you please take a screenshot of your whole screen with the message, so we can see what is happening?

hi 

i followed steps for the 1603 error and deleted temp etc...

tried downloading again lt14 version and no luck... not sure if there is locked files anywhere on the comp. 

uninstalled autodesk, and deleted all visible files... however there are Autodesk shared that cannot be deleted and couple of others...

 

what else i could do my end to install the cad LT version (i do not need 3D) beairng in mind that I originaly had Autocad14.
