Problem with Publish

I tried to publish some drawings from the same file this morning. The ppblish took place and I got a notification on my screen to say that there were no errors but when I opened the dialogue box I saw this - Plotted with errors PDF file is open uneditable. This facility has been working properly previously - just today this has started to happen.  Any ideas as to what could be wrong? (sorry for the very long paste below)

The publish did not produce any PDFs but I can plot the individual tabs - whichI have done but very tedious.

"...ERROR: Error saving PDF file; PDF file is open or uneditable...."
1) you forgot to turn off the feature "open PDF after creation" so your previous PUBLISH is still open in a PDF viewer by you or someone in your office that you missed.
2) Or the location you wish to drop the PDF into is no longer available.

NOTE: Make sure background publishing is turned off: no one needs it on IMHO.

I published with background publishing turned off and it worked fine.

I tried again with the publish in background turned on and got the original error message.

I was publishing to a local folder on my computer

This has only started happening today - I have used it sucessfully in the past with background publishing on.

I dont understand why but its a work around. Thanks for your help - again!!
