PDF's Will No Longer Attach

Hello, I have found little on this issue so I am starting a new thread.

I am trying to attach a PDF to my DWG in AutoCAD 2017. My process is:

1. Insert tab

2. Reference pallet

3. Attach

4. Select Reference File (I select file type as PDF, then select the PDF file. (A preview is NO LONGER displayed as it normally is)

After opening it nothing happens anymore. The next dialog box(where I can select the scale and insertion point) does not appear, but the command is still active. I can still move the cursor but I cannot select anything within AutoCAD and everything is grayed out. The only way I can proceed is if I exit the command by hitting the escape button. But then I am back to square one. Its as if it is taking a long time to load. I have waited up to 5 minutes with no progress.

I can insert image files just fine. To see if maybe the PDF is corrupted I tried selecting different PDF's with the same result. To see if maybe the drawing file is corrupted I tried it with my previous design which has attached PDF's attached to it, same result.

I have not altered anything within the AutoCAD settings/options.

I hope someone can shed some light on this situation as I am the only one my office that uses AutoCAD.

Thanks!

Is there an error message? Find out, F2 ot CTRL+F2 and see what AutoCAD says happened.

OR

PDFATTACH is the command name: type it and ensure you have the SPECIFY ON_SCREEN box checked for INSERTION point and at the SCALE option: now keep track of where you place it and zoom in if needed.
