Path array?

PathArray. I very rarely use it, but on the few occasions I do, I run into this. How do I get all the array objects to align correctly? Experimented with "Align items", but that did not solve it?

Are those chairs blocks, it looks as though it is arraying to the end point of the front edge if it's a block change the insertion point to be the centre of the front edge. Otherwise set the centre front edge as the base point or pick a point directly on the path, tangent to the centre front edge (draw a helper line).

Edit

Picking a base point will place that base point at the start of the path if you need the side of the chair still to line up with the end of the path, then when you have created the array, you can open the properties palette and find the array offset box, double click in there and give a value for half the width of the chair and everything should shift along the path.

Yes, they are blocks. The center of the from edge is the insertion point. Picking that point as the Base point aligns correctly, but moves the chairs to the path. I lose the distance to the path in the original layout. I know it can be done as I wish, I just forgot how.

Ok. Got it. I now understand "pick a tangent point." Thanks.

As I mentioned above just draw a short line from the centre of the block to the path and then use the end of that as the base point.

The properties does not let me change the start offset. Is shows 0". I change to 8" and then if goes back to 0"

Edit: Ok . It did it. But I needed to change another parameter first. Array looks right now
