Paperspace background in Autocad LT 2012

In paperspace I have trouble seeing drawing lines and text against the white background that is outside the black drawing plot area.  This is especially problematic with the yellow color.  I can see everything quite well within the plot area which has the black background.  I would like to change the white background to a medium gray that will allow me to see all items outside of the plot area.  Can I do this and if so how?

Thank you.

OPTIONS command, where it's always been, DISPLAY tab, COLORS button.

Thank you; however I still cannot perform this task.  I can change the color of the plot area in paperspace but I cannot change the color of the area outside of the plot area.  The plot area (24"x36" in my case) is black.  Under OPTIONS - DISPLAY - COLORS,  I choose BACKGROUND and I can change the plot area to any color I want; however this does not change the color of the area outside of the plot area.  I don't know how to change the color of the area outside of the plot area from the glaring white color to a darker color that will allow me to see work positioned outside of the plot area.  Is this something that needs to be set up before I perform the first plot?  Is that the issue?

Thank you,

Keith Schnadelbach

My mistake, I did not understand your intent.

You can't change it in LT: you can turn it off as noted above, or if you want to fiddle with Windows colors there is a post around here that can walk you through it.

I did not find a Windows choice that affected the background here.

I did manage to turn all my other windows black though...

Thanks for the information.  I am able to turn off "display paper background" and change the background color throughout paperspace and that will work for me.  At least I know that what I was originally trying to do can't be done and I can stop wasting my time.

Thanks.
