Object can't be selected, deleted, doesn't change scale when zooming

I've received a surveyor's AutoCAD dwg which I've opened in AutoCAD LT for Mac 2025. Things seem to be working well enough so far but I've discovered upon a big zoom out that there appears to be an object far away from the main drawing that: can't be selected / deleted, doesn't disappear when all layers are turned off, doesn't scale in size when zooming. It does appear to fixed at a specific x,y coordinate. When I double-click the mouse wheel to center all drawing objects in the model space window, the relevant land plot indeed center itself nicely in my window with the ghost object not being taken into account. This isn't hampering my work (yet?) but I'm curious what may being going on. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Relative newbie to AutoCAD

Looks like you were experimenting and changed the UCSICON settings, is that correct? You opted for a 2D display instead of the default.

How far is your content from the 0,0,0 point? And by chance is that where the red dot is?

Try changing GEOMARKERVISIBILITY to 0

@pendean Indeed I futzed around with UCSICON a couple of weeks ago. I needed to flip a drawing 180, which I managed with UCS, but then I started playing around with other related commands and just left it. Didn't think about it again but it appears to stay that way when new drawings are created or other files opened.

I created a rectangle near my drawing, then moved it to 0,0 and it ended up far to the left of my main content but not near the red flower looking thing (which I now understand is a geomarker)

That did it! Now I look up geomarkers and why this one is where it is. I should also ask the surveyor too see if this was intentional and if so, why. Thanks!

9/17/24 Edited to add: The surveyor'S DWG file was made in a full version of AutoCAD on Windows. The geomarker wasn't created or placed manually but does corresponds to the origin point of the projection used (in this case OCRS Portland zone) and likely was part of that import. I'm using AutoCAD LT for Mac 2025 which has almost no geolocation features/commands available to it other than GEOMARKERVISIBILITY which turns the marker on or off and GEOLATLONGFORMAT.
