New Layer creation defaults to layer 0

Hi 

I'm trying to create a new layer in LT 2019 - normally I would click the new layer icon and new layer comes up with name of Layer 1 - no problem, rename and apply attributes. However I currently create a new layer and it creates a new layer 0 which I am unable to rename.

Any thoughts as to how I resolve this?

1. Use Saveas to save the file with another name, close the file.

2. Try it in a NEW file

if it is working in a new file, re-open your saved file and try it again!

3. If it is still a problem, please upload this file here!

   If it isn't allowed for you: Close the file and use command RECOVER to open the file! Still a problem?

if it is also a problem in the new file: close Acad, re-open Acad and test it again

if it is stll a problem restart the PC and test it again.

The closing of CAD appears to have worked. Its the simple solutions that are often the way to resolve these issues. 

It was an interesting glitch  - the multiple layer 0 that i created through the layer properties manager registered as named layers in the dropdown list as Layer 1, layer 2 etc. I then closed the properties manager, reopened it and the layers had reset with a single layer 0 and layer 1, layer 2 etc available.

The odd thing about this was that this issue first started yesterday, I've since closed the machine down overnight and rebooted this AM - the same issue was occurring. Therefore thought it was more complex than the simple solution offered above.
