Need to print lines lighter

Anonymous
Not applicable

Autocad LT

Windows 7

64 bit

I've been searching for a way to print the background lines in my cross-section drawings, lighter. I have tried setting the line weight to  .05, and I tried printing in greyscale. I do not have a colour printer.

Someone suggested using "FLATTEN". I do not have that command.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

Andy

I have seen many drawings with faint lines in background etc., but I cannot duplicate.

I've literally tried tackling this no and again, for months.

Hi,

>> Someone suggested using "FLATTEN". I do not have that command.

Not applicable for Lt .

 >> I have seen many drawings with faint lines in background etc., but I cannot duplicate.

you can get that by Transparency option available in the Layer Properties Manager dialog .  >> Click <<

Note : For performance reasons, transparency when plotting is disabled by default. To plot transparent objects, click the Plot Transparency option in either the Plot dialog box or Page Setup dialog box.

Imad,

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

That worked! I ticked "Plot transparency" box in "Plot options" in Page Setup.

Ps.... Those evil little tick boxes, will get to every time.

Hi Imad,

Everything is lovely, except my inserted blocks. They are not printing with any transparency. I brought them in on the same layer, which has been set to 30 transparency. I've looked in block editor. Cannot not see why...again.

Perhaps you could help again?

At a guess, tho objects in the block are on another layer. If the objects inside the block are on layer "0" then the block should behave when it is placed on your layer with transparency, but if items in the block are on another layer they will keep the behaviour (properties) of their original layer. It would be an idea to post the dwg so we can see what might be going on.

your block components must has a transparency value , if you brought your block on a layer with transparency then your block components must drawn at 0 existing layer .  >> Click <<

Good Luck..
