Mouse wheel won't zoom

Hi,

I have a monthly subscription with CAD 2016 Lt. Previously the mouse wheel zoom was working fine. I have a new subscription and now the mouse wheel won't zoom.

The mouse wheel pan function is working but no zoom in or out. I don't recall any setting changes that could have affected it.

I'm using a microsoft wireless mobile mouse 1000 and have the latest driver installed. Is there a way to return the mouse wheel zoom function back again?

Thanks in advance.

What is the middle button set to in your mouse driver? That controls mouse scroll wheel behavior, nothing else does. Your 'latest" may have likely changed that setting.
In LT2016, what is MBTTUONSPACE set to and what is ZOOMFACTOR set to? After you fix the mouse driver setting, these improve on the experience.

Hello @Anonymous,

Here are a list of system variables you could try as a test and adjust. Let me know if this makes a difference;

Following up on this thread, I haven't heard back if you were able to try the suggested steps.

Please post back in the thread if you are still having an issue with AutoCAD the community and myself will be more than happy to help.

Hi guys,

Sorry for the late reply. I tried all the steps and it has improved the mouse wheel in that it actually zooms now.

However, it is quite un responsive / delayed and not working as originally was. There appears to be a delay when zooming.

I've tried chaning system variables as per your suggestion with no success.

Regards

MM

Hi

@Anonymous,

I need some additional information to continue to troubleshoot your issue to better provide suggestions to try;

  • Is this a corded mouse or a bluetooth mouse?
  • Can you provide the make/model of the mouse?
  • If you reset to defaults, does the issue still happen where its unresponsive?
  • Have you tried AutoCAD within a different windows user?

I am having the same issue in Civil 3d 2015. I got the pan to work based on changing the variable but the zoom is still intermittent. I have tried using a wired logitech mouse and a wireless logitech mouse with the same issue. The middle button is set to middle button.

Hi, found that the problem was resolved by replacing battery in wireless mouse. Not sure what else it could be if you’ve tried a wired mouse though…

I had this problem because my headset was on the floor and one of the buttons on the side was being pressed, which interferred with the scroll wheel operating properly in AutoCAD.

PRETTY RANDOM.
