Morror not working first time

Many time the first time I try to mirror an object it does not work.  Nearly always works the second time.  My colleague has experienced the same problem.

We can't see your screen so you will need to give a bit more information. It is probably not possible to capture what is happening with a screen video (though that would be nice). The next best thing is the next time it happens then press F2 and copy all the information from your command history (from the start of the mirror command) and paste it here so we can at least see what the command prompt is doing, maybe reading through that yourself will highlight the problem?

And better yet would be copy the command history for the time it fails, and the following time when it actually works so we can see the difference.

Well hey a lot of times I'd swear I type CO and instead it thinks I want to draw a circle. But that may just be me.

If by some odd chance my nattering was useful -- that's great, glad to help. But if it actually solved your issue, then please mark my solution as accepted 🙂

Why are you cancelling the action instead of choosing YES or NO?

You probably know this but this is what it should look like

Specify first point of mirror line:
Specify second point of mirror line:
Erase source objects? [Yes/No] <No>:

This is what I see using either the enter key, space bar or mouse to select 'no'. So the question is how do you 'accept' no? using one of those methods or some other way? Could it be a problem with your keyboard or mouse, do you use a wireless device, can you try using a different keyboard/mouse?

This says you are cancelling the command, so that is your problem: how are you triggering it?

I type N then hit <enter> for a NO response for example, what are you doing, assuming your right-click mouse button is set to <enter> when it might be set to *cancel* instead, or something else?

Normally I left click or press enter. Right-click is for the short cut menu

In the case of test, use [Enter] only.

But: *cancel* is never the usual feedback, i can not reproduce this, except is use [ESC] , or context menu *cancel*

at a loss

Are you really using AutoCAD LT, not AutoCAD LT for MAC ?

Restart your computer and see if your issue goes away.

This is a problem I've had for a long time it often occurs unexpectedly.
What am I doing to activating the cancel command?

As I am cancelling without doing it on purpose and it only seems to happen
using the mirror command.

My colleague says he occasionally has the same problem using AutoCAD mirror
command.

Did a restart of your computer solve the issue?

Sadly, there is no fix for "occasionally", you kind of have to stop and see what else is going on at the time.

What does ABOUT command list as your exact software version?
What is your OS?
Which mouse nd mouse driver are you using, and what are the three buttons set to in the mouse driver?
In OPTIONS command's USER PREF tab, post a screenshot of your RIGHT-CLICK CUSTOMIZATION pop-up please.

TIA

OS Window 10

The mouse is dell HID-compliant mouse driver is mouclass.sys I use my mouse
with my left hand so I have switched the primary button to the right. the

Thanks for the info.

As I noted earlier, there is no fix for "occasionally", you kind of have to stop and see what else is going on at the time then report here for all of us to repeat.
