Layouts with specific layers - LT2021

Hi forum 

I am about to make a drawing with elements placed above each other or very near each other. 

If I group the elements on different layers, is it then possible to make layouts where some layers are turned off, and other layers are turned on? 

For example one layout with guideways alone for electrical wires, and another layer alone for electrical components. 

Or do I have to make different drawings to each type of elements?

Hi,

while in Layout:

doubleclick inside viewport

or type in .pspace

or CTRL+R

or click PAPER in statusbar 

Open your LAYER palette, 

column VP LAYER is what you need.

See also command VPLAYER.

VP LAYER is a viewport or and paperspace(for paperspace objects) property.

To add to the comment from @cadffm there are many settings in the Layer manager that can be applied to just individual viewports, these all begin with VP, things like 'VP Color' and 'VP Transparency'.

is not for jumping inside a viewport, it#s just for toggling between multiple viewports.

Thanks a lot

I have now a solution.

But I am not absolute shure if there is at better way to achieve it.

In [Layer Properties] i cheked [New VP Freeze] for the layers which not schould appear in the current Layout.

Subsequently I created a new layer and everything is as desired.

I have attach the dwg file and screenshot of Layer Properties Manager.

Please read [F1], New VP Freeze is only for new viewports. 

If this property is set, in new viewports this layer will VP Freeze as default.

For the current Layout (Layout[Paper])

- for Paperspace placed objects

or

inside a viewport (Layout[Model]) 

for Modelspace placed objects thru a viewport

We talk about column VP LAYER
