Layer States

AC Lt 2017, Win 64

How can I assign a button to select/run a particular layer state?

I want to use this option instead of having to sort through a bunch of layer filters.

Surely there's a way to add a command to a button for this.

The button part I got, it's the command line I need.

Thanks

The layer state pulldown is on the RIbbon's Home Tab, Layers Panel, in the row that is hidden (click on the arrow next to the word Layers in that panel to see it).

You can move it to any other panel or further up in the same panel if you want to customize it in CUI command.

The command name is LAYERSTATE which you can abbreviate if it is not already defined as LAS

BTW, you should get in the habit of searching for this type of stuff in HELP first. Most commands that have buttons or toolbars in HELP can also be found by using HELP's find option, see below

Hope that helps you in future searches for commands you already know.

I may not have given enough info but I want to have the  Layer State dropdown on the quick access toolbar (which you cannot do), so therefore I want to make buttons that I can put on the quick access toolbar.

Oh yes you can, I did it, see my very customized QAT bar:

Capture.PNG

Go into CUI, drag the Combo Layer State from its current location under Ribbon>Panels>Home-Layers to the QAT section, Apply, Then OK, then save your workspace with WSSAVE command it you like it there.

Thanks. Realized that the QAT needs to be expanded in order to add anything.

@pendean

This works for me in 2025, however it will not work in 2027. I am LT, not sure if it works in full AutoCAD.

I try to either drag the combo box (i get a circle with a line through it) or copy/paste it (paste greyed out)

Any suggestions??

Thank you!!

You'll need to open a support case with Autodesk to fix any issues you observe in the very new LT2027 from your Autodesk Accounts page.

In the meantime, LT2025 and LT2026 work just fine so stick with them: there is little in LT2027 that's worth giving up any features you prefer and need.
