Latest and updated solutions just for your needs - AutoCAD, Revit and more!

I am Using ACAD Lt 2012 on a Surface Pro 4.

The issue is that the courser does not work on all of the drop menus.  The drop menus will work when fiddling with the mouse pad and one has to use the up and down key to pick an option.

One has to type in the command and press enter as the courser will not activate the command.

Any suggestions>

LT2012 is not supported in Win10 http://autode.sk/1IY4C2X
It's also not really designed for touch-screens: are you using a mouse?

Or do you just need to lower the display resolution so that you can reach/touch the correct menu items?

Older versions like LT2012 will only run on displays set to 1920x1080 (also try 2560x1440 and up to 2560x1600 if you have that option) and at 100% text scaling (no more than 125% text scaling).
Read all about it here http://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Odd-gra...

Here is a forum user-tip that offers a variation of the old fix if you want to try it, it may or may not work, but worth trying https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-lt-forum/unresolved-high-resolution-screen-scale-issues-with-...

AutoCAD LT 2012 release is not supported on your OS you described or as Dean mentioned the touch screen aspect.

Do you have an option of running any newer releases?

Thanks for the tip.  By scaling it down it seems to help. It's a compromise but I need magnifying glasses.

I was able to get a few more features to work.

I was thinking to try a newer version.  I was looking on line and it seems you can only get a subscription.  I may try it out.

The SurfacePro is a tiny device my friend: a good solid pair of reading glasses solved the same problem for my old eyes here. Might be worth a trip to the eye clinic 🙂

Run the 2018 or 2017 releases and see if it applies to your day to day work needs.
