Intel C States \ Speedstep Issue AutoCad LT 19\20

Hi All,

Just wanted to share an issue I just ran into.

I had a user call me with a performance issue since I patched his install of 19, to the latest update. Turns out the processor was not throttling up while he was using AutoCAD LT, and the issue only occurred while AutoCAD LT was running.

I upgraded his install to 2020 and the issue persisted. Strangely did not seem to affect 19 pre-update. The whole system was just bogged down, even affected mouse movement!

The fix was to disable Intel C States & Speedstep in the BIOS, this fixed the issue. Albeit at the cost of battery life. Now this may be hardware specific, so the computer was a Dell Latitude 5580 laptop FYI.

Just wanted to throw this out there for anyone that might need it.

Cheers.
