Insert a title block

Hello,

Sorry for the basic question....I'm new to AutoCAD.  I have a floor plan DWG file and also a title block DWG file that was sent to me from an architect.  What's the normal workflow to make my necessary changes to the floor plan, then incorporate their title block, then fill in my info in the title block.

Can I also ask how to deal with this:  the paper space for the floor plan is 8.5"x11", but the title block is sized 24"x36".

Thanks for the help.

Mike

Change the paperspace Layout size: PAGESETUP command. But you need to select a plotter that can handle that sheet size too (if you don't have one you can you the built in PDF driver).

Hi Mike,

There is more than one workflow for this. You can use Titleblocks (TB) directly in modelspace, scaled up, or in paperspace (PS) layouts at 1:1 scale . PS layouts are recommended. You can bring in a TB as an external reference or Insert as a block. Typically the TB is only information that is consistent for the entire project.-every drawing. Then use editable Mtext in PS for the text unique to each drawing (such as drawing number, revision dates and info, etc.)

I made a short screencast video for you that demonstrates: AutoCAD: Insert a Title Block

I hope that helps.

Thank you very much! I have been struggling with this for days with no solution from several reference books or AutoCAD HELP.
