Importing a hatch pattern

I have copied a wood hatch pattern (wood_1) from an Autocad 2015 drawing to an Autocad LT 2020 drawing.  I do not have the .pat file for this hatch pattern.  The hatch looks correct in the LT drawing however it appears to be a stand alone "object" void of any transferable properties.  When I try to use Match Properties to apply the imported wood hatch pattern to another hatch only the layer changes not the pattern itself.  Is there anyway to extract the .pat file so that this hatch pattern will work as other hatches?  Can the LT selection of hatch patterns be expanded beyond the 83 patterns included in LT which has no wood hatch patterns? I hope my dilemma is clear.  If you have questions please do not heitate to ask.  Thank you.

Go here and look for GETPAT.LSP, this is a lisp file that will recreate the PAT file contents from an existing graphical hatch pattern.

Yes, you can add your own hatch patterns. Documentation here.

LT has no ability to extract the PAT code from a hatch in a DWG file, which is needed to do what you want. Do you have access to full AutoCAD?

There is no limit on how many hatch patterns you can have or use in LT. But LT (and p[lain AutoCAD) are not for any one industry and therefore do not include hatch patterns for everyone and every need.

You can purchase hatch patterns on the web as well as find freebies on the web too: for purchase, these folks have a nice bundle that seems to match your type of work http://hatchpatterns.com/
