I received a private message this last weekend from a customer. He asked how he could create an Index List of details that he has stored in a single drawing.
I thought I would share my example in case it helps anyone else.
I created a video (and also attached my drawing) that shows the simple process I used.
In it, I create a grid and placed numbers in each grid position. These numbers would each represent one of the details.
I then created a text list that ideally would be the name of each detail.
Then, using saved views, I create a hyperlink from each piece of text in the list to a pre-defined view.
I don't personally prefer keeping all my details in a single file for a variety or reasons including file size and performance, chance of corruption, difficult navigation (hyperlinks can help), etc.
At any rate, this method might be useful for this or for some other navigation in a file or multiple files.
