How to scale Floorplan from paper Scale i.e. 1:100@A1

So we regularly get floor plans of buildings sent through, which do not have dimensions on but often have a scale such as 1:100 when printed at A1. 

If I drag the PDF into the model scace and then import as objects how can I scale the floorplan based on the 1:100@A1? There are no dimensions to use the reference scale function!

Its important this is accurate as we lay fire alarm designs over this and use the scale to check detector coverage.

Which version of AutoCAD LT do you have?

If the PDF has been converted from a drawing you can use the command PDFIMPORT and that will import the drawing as PDF as drawing elements.

If there isn't a physical scale on the drawing, I would draw a rectangle which is 841 x 594 (A1 size) I would then make sure the "PDF" fits in that, then I would scale the "PDF" by 100.

Yes this does work it's not 100% accurate as AutoCAD does not convert a PDF to a drawing accurately

I've done this plenty of times and I've seen a dimension on the drawing which says 6000 and I've measured it at 5999.487

 ah yes thats a good shout to scale the PDF insert to the A1 dimension - I think that would be plenty accurate enough.
