How to insert a georeferenced TIF image

I have downloaded the 30 day trial of AutoCAD Lt 2016 in order to assess if it will be suitable to allow me to work from home part of the week. I use AutoCAD Map 3D 2015 in the office and an integral part of my job is mapping information drawn from georeferenced images. There does not appear to be a MAPIINSERT function on AutoCAD LT.  How do I insert my rectified georefenced TIF images? If this is not a function in LT, then buying the LT software will be pointless.  Any advice much appreciated.

Hi Steve,

MAPIINSERT is an AutoCAD Map 3D/Civil 3D specific feature that is not provided in AutoCAD LT or any other AutoCAD vertical release, unfortunately.

That being said, in AutoCAD LT you could use the GEOMAP command to display a map with geographical location.

Please let me know if this helps.

MAPINSERT command is not a feature of LT or plain AutoCAD: you need to evaluate and eventually purchase AutoCAd MAP3D (or Civil3D if that is your field of work) for that http://www.autodesk.com/products/autocad-map-3d/features/all/list-view

If you want to stick with LT, try this classic tip:

If you want to use Bing Maps, try this tip:
