How to crop a picture to fit a specific shape in AutoCAD LT

Hello,

How do I crop a picture to fit a specific shape in AutoCAD LT?  I'm working on AutoCAD LT 2022.

Attached is a screenshot of what I'm working with.  The shape is a table top and I want to crop the marble picture to fit to the shape so it looks like a marble table top.

Thanks.

CLIP command is explained in HELP.

Thanks for your reply.

I'm afraid I'm fairly new to this and not seeing anything obvious in HELP.

In particular I'm struggling to fit to a curved shape.  I have managed to clip to a rectangle, but on my screenshot, you will see that the two long edges are curved.

Are you able to point me in the direction of a particular command?

Thanks

I have since found a way to do it, although I'm not sure if it is correct.

As far as I can make out you can't clip to a shape/polyline that contains an arc/circle.

So I created the 'same' shape in my screenshot, but with the curved lines made with the POLYGON command, as a 1024 sided 'circle', which I then trimmed down to the 'arc' length I needed.

I then turned this new shape into a polyline and I was able to use CLIP command.

Is this the only way to 'fill' a shape with an image, where the shape has curved sides?

Thanks

Unfortunately, clip won't work with curved elements. You would need to recreate the curved parts using multiple short straight sections, try the polygon command with a high number of sides then trim out just the section you need for the table edges.

EDIT: oops whilst I was looking I see you found the answer yourself.

Yes this is the only method

Further to the above,  I'm now wanting to create a 'cut-out'  within my 'clipped' picture (for example a sink cut-out in my table top).  Is there a way to do this?

Thanks.

Use a WIPEOUT or a SOLID hatch with a TRUE COLOUR setting of 255,255,255
