We have tried this proposed solution and it does not work.

Would DPI scaling have anything to do with this issue ?

Hi Dean,

I'm stuck then !

Brand new laptop, New software licence and cannot use it if an existing drawing has hatching which is very frustrating as it crashes as soon as I click on any item with hatch.  I do't seem to be getting the same level of support from Autodesk as we do from the likes of Microsoft or Apple.

Any ideas on who I should be contacting for support on this issue. Our Licence subsrcription states we have Advanced Priority support ?

You probably missed this topic at the top of this forum before posting:

I suspect you need to ensure LT2016 is uptodate if you are running Win10 (SP1 required), running GRAPHICSCONFIG command to turn off linesmoothing/linefading and perhaps everything else on that pop-up, turning off HPQUICKPREVIEW variable, and ensuring this is not a contributing factor https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCA...

Hope these help.

Hi there!

Would you try to set the SELECTIONEFFECT system variable On, and see if it helps.

Turn on the SELECTIONEFFECT system variable:

  1. At the command line in AutoCAD, type SELECTIONEFFECT.
  2. Change the setting from 0 to 1.

I hope it helps.

Hi again!

Would you please make sure you have the Service Pack installed. You can use this link:

AutoCAD LT 2016 Service Pack 1

In addition to HPQUICKPREVIEW, you can try turning off COMMANDPREVIEW, also, as you are running with Intel HD graphics, you may want to disable graphical Hardware acceleration altogether or try turning it on, if it is off now.

For that laptop model I believe you can order it with an optional GeForce video card... Do you have that? (in the Device Manager) or only the Intel chipset?

Please let me know if any of this helped.

Kind Regards,

Would you please try to make sure the Service Pack is installed on your computer? As already updated to Windows 10, this is certainly necessary. You can use the link bellow.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to respond, we tried all suggestions but still not working.

Still no answer to this issue so we have removed the manifest file and gone back to the small icons and poorly displayed drop down menus.

Set toolbar icons as large.

Its far from ideal and with no solution from Autodesk to date this is concerning after investing in the software and new laptops.

And I have still to find the chat facility - not very easy to find. Why is it hidden away and not freely posted on the community site for access ?

Manifest file? Do yourself a favor, Google Search the sentence AUTOCAD ON HIGH RES MONITORS and read the Autodesk fix instead of that Photoshop fix you found instead.
