Hatch pattern scaling

Hello

When using hatch patterns the scale is very large (1000, 2000 etc) to obatin a suitable scale

In the past scales have been considerably lass than this (10 - 100)

Tried to draw concrete hatch pattern and only achieved a solid hatch regardless of scale

This has happened previously on other hatch patterns

Your suggestions would be most appreciated

Which template are you using metric or imperial and what is the size of the area you are trying to hatch?

If you look at the hatch pattern file then for 'ar-conc' the pattern will produce gravel at about 1" or 25mm depending on your template and your drawing units. But AutoCAD does use 'units' so in imperial the gravel is 1 unit and in metric 25 units (at a scale of 1).

So what is the approximate width of the area you are hatching and which template are you using?

Also are you using an annotative hatch? If so you need to make the scale (ringed in the image below) the same scale which you want your hatch to be

Thank you for your prompt reply

I am using metric and the size of the areas varies - 900 x 400mm; 3000 x 150mm...and so on



Since posting this query I hatched a larger size (4000 x 3000mm) which worked perfectly and then "matched properties" from the larger to the smaller areas and everything worked

It's a mystery as to why it did this in the first place but the outcome is fine and if it happens again then I'll just use the same method

So you just lost track of scaling then in the first try, it got fixed (or reset) in the second attempt: you control all of that in HATCH command's SETTINGS option.
