GRID SHIFTS WHEN OPENING UP A FILE

HI everyone

this is a really weird issue i am having and wnat to know if anyone else has had this before and if there are any fixes. i cant really explain it so i will post screenshots.

what happens is that when i add blocks, i snap them to the grid in one corner, usually top-left as seen on the first screenshot. But sometimes, when i open the file, some of my blocks have shifted slightly (see second screenshot). This is really annoying as i usually make lines from one block to the other and since one block shifted, the lines look weird or dont snap right ( see snapshot 3). please someone tell me i am not losing my mind and autocad LT does have an issue with the grid.

@david_cifuentesNTFNH No such issue exists for most of us, so let's figure out what is unique at your end.

Provide this information -

1) What year version of LT are you using as listed by ABOUT command inside the program?
2) And your OS is....?

TIA

Off course, you know how to manage the specific DSETTINGS ? I mean the first tab !

Are you meaning that the file that you open is different than when you close it ?

Otherwise I see no issue in your images, knowing all the settings I am talkinf about with spaces and subdivision of the space, etc.... all that you find in this dialog box.

hey There
i am using AutoCAD version U.152.0.0 LT 2024 on a windows 11 pro pc.
and yes the issue is that some of the blocks i place aligned to the grid, but when i reopen the file they are out of alignment with the grid. it's really weird and very annoying

You are missing many updates:

You can get the 2024.1.4 Update yet from your Autodesk Account Page here https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates
Restart your PC afterwards.

If that did not help your GRID display issue... Set GFXDX12 variable to 0 (that's a zero) then restart AutoCAD/LT2024: reverting to DirectX11 fixes similar problems for most users.

If still no relief then start GRAPHICSCONFIG command and change the 2D Display Settings pulldown from "advanced mode" to one of the other choices.

hey i did the update and everything. but this issue still persists and is driving me nuts. even text and other stuff within block definitions goes out of alignment randomly. akl the dots of reference for these text boxes should be exactly in a corner. but now they have shifted slightly. i dont understand why this would happen or how to frix it. it's really annoying

@david_cifuentesNTFNH It's time to share actual DWG file(s) with the issue present instead of pictures.

Then explain how we replicate these shifts etc.

TIA

good morning

there is no way for me to know how to replicate these issues. they just happen randomly. I zoom in on something that looks a bit off and there it is, not aligned with the grid.

Greetings!

Sadly we can't help you fix "random", especially if you already tried all the tips offered by everyone above beyond just installing the latest update.

Your next step is to schedule an appt with Autodesk Support to access your PC/setup: Here are the ways to open a support case with Autodesk if you are on subscription to seek out Autodesk Support's help:
