The bottom line is that I'm able to create up to 5000 mm long paper.
Israeli permission plan drawings are usually arranged on a very wide paper, so I'm still having limitation publishing them, in that case we split the drawing.
Here is what Autodesk expert Alfred NESWADBA wrote me:
As you already found out, it's a limitation of the file format "PDF", the definitions of PDF does not support longer paper sizes.
Even if Autodesk would try to create longer PDF's you won't get them opened in any of the viewers.
As the PDF is a file-format that is not defined by Autodesk it's not possible that Autodesk can solve that. You might ask Adobe as they created that format in the 1990's if they might change that in the future.
If this limitation is changed I'm sure that all the software-companies writing PDF's will adopt their software.
I know that the answer is not what you wanted to hear, but it's a limitation for a file-format which Autodesk does not control.
