Drawing Terracing

What is the best way to draw terracing? 

I have not been able to find a better way to draw in terracing for lot grading plans other than to draw each line separate.  id like to be able to adjust the terracing length to suit the actual length & be able to draw around curves.

I suppose it would depend on the information you have to start with. LT is a general-purpose drafting software and it sounds like what you are trying to do is more suited to the specialized Civil 3D software. But if LT is what you have to work with then it would help if you gave us as much information as possible, you might get lucky and find someone that does this in LT but for the rest of us who have no idea what grading involves it would help if you supplied .dwg information and a description of how you do it now to see if anyone can think of a way to improve your current workflow.
