Dimension and hatch offset problem

Hi,

My AutoCAD has started to draw dimensions with the start and end points of the dim offset away from the selected points on objects. It only does this when snapping to objects is selected. It is also doing the same thing when hatching closed polylines. The hatch appears outside the selected object and the same distance away as the dimension offset problem. It appears to be linked to object snaps somehow, but I can't find any setting that I can interrogate to try and solve the issue. It only started to do this today on a drawing I have been working on for a week. At a total dead end.

Plain Autocad isn't very good when it has to work a long way from the origin point 0,0 why is your drawing so far off in space that's 9 digits. Programs like Civil 3D can handle those numbers but Autocad doesn't do so well.

Hi,

I'm afraid I can't answer that. I have inherited this drawing from someone else.

A question of UCS and your view(PLAN)

Share your DWG file here for closer examination: you either rotated UCS/PLAN settings without noticing, or as noted by others, you shifted your entire plan overnight as these distances from 0,0,0 look to be ill-advised
