Did Something stupid and need to get it back.

I needed to draw a foundation detail and got lazy and drew on the foundation plan drawing so I could project lines. As I am drawing the detail, I accidentally hit a button in the Model Viewport (off the top ribbon I had View tap selected) top ribbon.  All of a sudden my screen has 4 viewports. For viewports I generally use type the viewports command and use the dialog box pop-up to do what I wanted, That is what I did here.  Dialog box >single viewport.  My screen and drawing were back to normal.  Finished up the drawing, and then opened a new file, gave the drawing file a name and then copied clipped the detail drawing into the into the new file.  When I copped clipped the detail into the new drawing file it came in as a multicolored line.  I tried to write block the detail drawing out into a new file same problem.  Some how I have either rotated the drawing into the z plane (which I did not think Autocad LT did) or my drawing has been compressed in the Y plane.  I have been trying for a couple hours to figure out what I did, so I can undo it but this old architect is not as save as some of you are.  Could you help me.

I have attached a copy of the detail drawing as it was drawn and appears on the original Foundation plan drawing.  The second picture is the result when I try to clip copy or writeblock it into an existing or new drawing.

Next time, post a Screenshot of the whole program window (much more information for helpers).

Check your UCS

Command: _UCS _world

Check you View

Command: _PLAN _world

This sample is for 2D drawings, created in UCS planar to the WCS

Without seeing the dwg file it is hard to say where it it went wrong, but on the ribbon look for the view tab - named views panel and at the top is a drop down list, try and see which one gets your drawing back into view try 'top', 'front' or 'right' to start with, if top works then everything is fine. If one of the others then you need to let us know if that is working now for you, or do you need to get it all back to normal?

>>" (which I did not think Autocad LT did) "

Inside a DWG and also in both programs - The drawing room is a 3D world.

Upload your source and target file and someone will post you what are the needed steps

Here are the Drawings

X-F1 MESSED UP.DWG  This is the original drawing.  The foundation plan larger upper drawing was drawn last week.  The smaller detail, below the foundation plan is the drawing in question.  I drew it last night.  BTW I also can not hatch the detail drawing

X-MECH CRAWL SPACE ACCESS.DWG  This was my first attempt copy clip the detailed drawing so it was its own. Every thing seems to be compressed.

Again thanks in avance

It appears you left clues on in your file:

You rotated the UCS then kept drawing in this one

This is "normal" in the other file

Capture2.JPG

Setting both UCS and PLAN commands in your problem file to WORLD seems to fix the issues.

Looks like you managed to change the UCS in one file to 'back' and then copied a detail and placed it in your second drawing, giving you what appears to be just a line. Attached are your two drawings fixed!! with both having the UCS set to world (and your sideways detail turned around).
