I have just downloaded Autocad LT 2018, I used to be a super user in autocad mechanical 5 years ago, but since then autocad has not been needed where i work, but now we think about getting autocad again.

It seems that the LT version could be sufficient, but due to my time away from autocad i am not sure if the feuture(s) i am lokking for are missing due to the LT version, or if the tap has been moved.

Anyway, I am trying to add a cross section view to my layout, just like the one mentioned here. https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad-mechanical/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/201...

I have been lokking for a hour or so but can not seem to find the tap.

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD LT forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

This appears to be a tool used with a 3D model.  If so, then you will need full AutoCAD instead of AutoCAD LT.  Is it possible to attach a sample drawing so I can verify what you are trying to do?

Here also is a link to a Trial of AutoCAD if you want to compare.

Hi

No I am not talking about 3d, this is actually a really simple feauture 🙂

On below drawing I had to draw the lines ad insert a text box to make the A A cros section on the upper view, and then add below A-A text box above the lower view.

I do belive that there should be tool to create these symbols and lines, and also keep track if one drawing has more than one cross secktion view, A-A B-B C-C etc.

I am aware that I have to draw both views from scratch. It is just the lines, with arrows and automatic created text box I want.

I hope this is more clear 🙂

That is not a feature in AutoCADLT or plain AutoCAD: REVIT LT has that, REVIT has it, and all the vertical versions of AutoCAD have that.

Hi @Anonymous,

You might consider making a Dynamic Block that looks like this so you don't have to enter geometry manually.  As Dean indicated, this feature is not available in AutoCAD LT.

Here have some section arrows. You might want to fiddle with the text style of the attributes
