Creating & loading custom linetypes

I created new linetypes to an existing .lin file using Notepad, but Linetype Manager does not show the new lines to load. I even created a couple of new linetypes at the end of acadlt.lin as directed and linetype manager still does not show them to load

Post a screenshot of your .lin file so we can have a look at what the information is

@hohlUF7J5
1) Which LIN file did you edit?
2) Where was it located?
3) Did you code it correctly? I don't see your screenshot of code.
4) Are you 100% positive LINETYPE command found the LIN file you edited, and not the stock LIN file that you did not edit? You can easily find out in that same pop-up to confirm yourself anytime like this

Here is my file.....changed demo linetype but it does not change on dwg also added LPS linetype:

But when I go to load the file it still only shows the original file that i had from  reg ACAD ........I think the reason is I have a original dwg with these linetypes in it that I opened

should that .lin file be somewhere else? I added LPS and changed demo linetypes using Notepad

I think maybe I wasn't clear on my explanation:

My linetype file contains "LPS" linetype which I created (last one in list). When I went to load it into the dwg it did NOT appear in the list. Refer to the previous message.....

@ hohlUF7J5 Is there a blank line here at the very end of the LIN file? It is required

Otherwise this file is not the one being loaded.

Providing you are actually trying to load the correct filename.lin then you should have had an error message telling you there was a problem and then indeed the LPS linetype will not appear in the list.

See the numbers after the U in your image.

LPS.jpg

it should read U=0.0 and not U=0,0 (decimal point and not a comma)
