converting scale from engineer to architectual

Hi! Need help.

I've done this before and now don't recall how I did it. I have a recently prepared property survey that I want to scale to to 1/4" to prepare for construction drawings. I need to convert the original survey drawing from engineering to architectural  because when I try to scale the drawing in a layout sheet (in model space) it gets smaller than larger.

What units are used in the survey? You need to know that first. You can use -DWGUNITS command (there is a dash in the name) to find out.

OR just INSERT or XREF that survey DWG file into your DWG file and it should auto-scale, then you can create a viewport/plot from your own DWG file as you desire and are used to doing.

entered -DWGUNITS and it was 1. Not sure what that indicates.

Ah! -DWGUNITS <1> means it's in inches!  I seem to recall in past times I was told to scale it to 12 or something like that. I tried it and I must have it wrong
