We have a company logo in .png format. I have loaded it into our standard drawing format but when printed it comes out rather fuzzily.

I loaded the logo into word and then pasted this into the drawing but got a very unsightly border around the logo.

My questions are:

Can a png file be loaded into a drawing as an editable item and if so how?

If not:

Can I get rid of the border when I paste the pdf version?

What size in the PNG image and did you have to scale it up to get it to work in AutoCAD?
Any reason you cannot create an AutoCAD-objects version of the logo to use instead? Trace over it or create from csratch OR If you used a professional logo creation software it can generate DXF or DWG files from it for you to use too.

Usual thing, didn't want to spend the time drawing the logo - plus the fact that we have one that has been produced by a graphics house so the idea is to have a standard log on all corporate correspondence and paperwork.

I did have to alter the scale slightly but the overall edges of the design is a bit woolly

I will make enquiries of the graphics house that did the original but I can see us having to draw it out..

Our corporate logo designer sent along a dozen file formats of our recently revamped branding material and it included dwg/dxf formats among others. So it can be done if they use the correct tools for design in the first place. We love that flexibility.

I had a colleague place the logo onto our drawing sheet and it looked pretty good. I got him to send it to me so that I might do some work on it and the logo had disappeared and there was a link left to his local drive where he has the logo stored. I am being really thick here but would we need to store the logo on our network drive so that it appears on all drawings?

Sounds like the image was referenced or linked in and the pathing, much like you do with XREFs, is pointing to a location not immediately available to you.

So yes, if you wish to only reference in the image, the source file needs to be in a server folder everyone can access in their AutoCAD sessions without much effort.
