CHANGING TEXT SIZE

I am trying to change the size of text on a single word in my drawing. I click on the word, manually change the size in my properties, but when I push enter nothing changes. The text stays the same size. Any insight? I am new to AutoCad LT and haven't been having any issues with text until today.

It is really TEXT? See top left corner highlighted

And is the text highlighted like in my screenshots (has a blue dot or dots)

Is this a problem in ALL of your files? Or just this one file?
All of your text in the file, or just this one?

Yes it is TEXT. This is the only drawing we have encountered this on so far. The "3" between the two orange lines wont change height when I manually change it from 11/16 to 1/2 in the properties on the left.

very odd: any chance that "layer 1" the text is on is locked?
Can you share that portion of your DWG file here?

Also the rotation angle is not exactly 0 but off by a few decimal positions
