Can you scale polyline segment width?

I'm hoping to be able to scale a polyline's segment widths but not it's length.

Let's say Vertex 1 has a start width of 1 and end width of 2, and V2 goes from 3 to 6.

Perhaps I'd like to scale it by two, such that V1 has a start width 2 and end width of 4, V2 goes from 6 to 12.

Possible?

Indeed you can as you are creating the PLINE: watch the commandline, enter the required WIDTH prompts between the points you wish to make wider/thinner.

If the PLINE is already created, there is nothing you can edit there after the fact (I guess you could TRIM, draw a new PLINE with width, then PEDIT>JOIN as another option, but that would take forever).

Understood.  I have several of these existing polylines with dozens of vertices each.  I was hoping for a way to scale them automatically without having to edit the start/end of each vertex manually, but it sounds as though that's not possible.
