Batch Plot to PDF crops my drawing width

The pdf file option crops my drawings:

I have tried going to Adobe and setting the default print size to ledger...   no change on the batch plot.

I am using AutoCad Lt (2014).  I have set up my 11x17 page manager to print to 1:1 (full size) on all my multi-sheet drawing file.

All the drawings use the same plot layout within this file.

I print to my plotter and the sheets come out perfect.

When I set up my batch file to print to pdf, all my drawings come out to Adobe with the left & right ends cropped off.

When I print out a single sheet to pdf, I have to change the default sheet size from "tabloid" back to ledger (11x17).

Is there some way of getting AutoCad to let me set the default sheet size for my pdf formats?

How do I modify the .bat file to make the .pdf default plot size to 11X17?

That tells me your pagesetup settings are not being saved correctly. What PDF driver are you using in LT2014?

Hi,

was was selecting Adobe pdf (default choice from AutoCad)

then, I created Adobe pdf. pc3.  I saved the page size (ledger) to this file.

when I return to the sheet to print and select Adobe pdf. pc3, it defaulted back to tabloid, again.

so I created a sheet layout, but my file has 30+ tabs (drawings) in it.  I cant go thru 30+ drawings to switch it over to that sheet layout.

I may as well just print out each sheet if I am going to do that.

There is no "adobe pdf.pc3' default: that's an import from some older version or a 3rd party driver you use.

The correct default is DWG TO PDF.PC3: change your pagesetups to that one and the page size you actually desire, save your files, then test PLOT and PUBLISH again and see if the problems remain.

the individual sheets in my one .dwg file (30+ sheets), I have the page manager set up to plot to a printer.

my issue is:

  when I use my batch plot command and change the plotting pointer to "pdf" instead of my printer, it plots them to the default paper size for Adobe... which is "tabloid".

again, I have switched the Adobe program to ledger...  I have switched the "dwg to pdf" to ledger and I have the Adobe pdf.pc3 files set up to ledger.

yet, my print function for pdf continues to default to "tabloid".

Ah, OK, so you are NOT publishing pr plotting with your pagesetups at all, you are relying on Publish to handle all the conversions by selecting the PDF option. Not a good idea if you want total control on the output. I misunderstood.

Ledger is not being chosen since it's getting info from your printer pagestup and determining something other than ledger is the correct substitution.

For total control of what you want... Correctly set your pagestup to a PDF driver with the correct page then PUBLISH with the pagesetups and not the PDF option. Same with PLOT. The correct page size will always be ledger.

Doesn't change this fact though: "adobe pdf.pc3' is an import from some older version or a 3rd party driver you use.

i did go to the "dwg to pdf" file and change that as well, but as you said the batch program is determining the tabloid to be the best substitute for 11x17 page size.

bummer.  perhaps Autodesk should make this an option for the batch program.
