AutoCAD LT won't re-install after a new hard drive was installed

I recently had a new hard drive installed and when I attempted to re-install AutoCAD LT 2004 from the disc, I received the following error message: "aclt.exe System Error. The program can't start because ac1st16.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

I attempted the reinstall but received the same error message.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

You put back WinXP or Win7? Or did you change Windows versions too?

I upgraded to Windows 10. I read a reply (maybe by you) in a similar post,
that said AutoCAD LT 2004 won't run in Windows 10. Is my only choice to
upgrade to a newer version of ACAD LT? Thanks for your advice.

If the link with a solution that I posted did not work and you are still having issues installing or running LT2004 in Win10 your other choices rather than upgrading are:
- Get and install Windows 7
- Buy a fix from these folks http://www.longbowsofftware.com
- Find another cheaper or free CAD program to use like DraftSight among others.
