AutoCAD LT 2019 How do disable automatic dim style override?

Somewhere between saving-closing and opening a DWG file, AutoCAD LT 2019 automatically generates a dim style override of the current dimension style, annoyingly makes some random settings, and sets the new fancy override to "current" giving me surprise dimension settings when I am working, which causes me to be less productive and interrupts optimum workflow in order to correct the anomaly... EVERY TIME!!!

I have seen that other ACAD platforms provide a clear path to disable this useless automation, but in LT there are no clear means that I have been able to find so far.

Simply closing and opening the program/files does not create dim overrides: those are always triggered by a user action, mostly changing a dim variable or its just a setting that was missed like in DIMCONTIUEMODE command.

Also ensure your LT2019 is up to 2019.1.2 update: check what you have with ABOUT command.

It seems as though those solutions are fro full Autocad with LISP capability - ACAD LT does not have that concern.

ACTUALLY... it does... And I have found many other posts as far back as 2005 of people that have the same problem as I, whth no actual solution in sight as to yet. I did update to 2019.1.2 but it had no effect on the problem.

Show me, post your DWG file: we all have AutocAD2019 and we can all close and open your files to boot so lets see if we can all replicate the issue.

Walk me through exactly, 100% replicable on your end, how I can do that here with your file.

You posted an empty file with a missing XREF, and it only contains a dimstyle called STANDARD that does not seem to be set to anything other than default OOTB setting like you find in blank files.

Opened your file.

Set the default dimstyle to your VANEIGER one.

Set layer to zero.

Drew a bunch of dimensions. Saved and closed your file. Opened it back up. No overrides. Same Dimstyle is still active.

Used DIMCONTINUE to continue the one dimension on layer DIMENSIONS that you had. Saved and closed your file. Opened it back up. No overrides. Same Dimstyle is still active.

Set the layer to TITLE, drew a bunch of dimensions. Saved and closed your file. Opened it back up. No overrides. Same Dimstyle is still active.

What else do I need to do to replicate your issue? Using LT2019.1.2 here.

I don't know. I guess you can't help me. Maybe someone else can who has
encountered the same circumstance. I'll use a workaround for now but I
still don't consider that a solution.

I Reset to default settings then its solve from me. Or Copy past to new CAD file.

Save your file as dwg2018 first - your fileformat is dwg2000 now which don't know about the new features,

so you see these new features as style ovverride.

I don't tell more about dwgVersions, no time.

YOU... are correct Sir! That is the thing that corrected the problem.

I have "professional" clients who are too cheap to spring for a more recent version of AutoCAD and have me save back to 2007, 2004, and even one PE that asks for 2000!!! So, to accommodate them I save all of my files back to 2000 by default. Well, No more I say! the grief is not worth it. I will change my default to provide myself with the best performance - because AutoCAD is my tool and I must keep it sharp!
