AutoCAD LT 2010 & Windows 7: Crosshairs (Cursor) is not selecting

All of a sudden, my crosshairs stopped selecting.

I can type in select and use the crosshairs as normal, but I cannot use the crosshairs to select the objects first and then choose a command.

For instance, I cannot select an object and then choose "Copy" in order to put this object on my Computer clip board to copy an object into another AutoCAD file.

I am not sure if this is a conflict with Windows 7 or not, I just put it in the title because I did see a conversation about it online regarding a Windows 7 update interrupt with a 3DCONFIG command solution.  But, AutoCAD 2010 LT does not recognize this command.  So, I am still having this problem.
