AutoCAD is blurry and dull color on 2nd monitor

Hello,

I just got a new computer and for some reason can't figure out why my 2nd monitor (same one I've always used) is all of a sudden making the whole AutoCAD program blurry and dull in color. I've put my display settings exactly how they were on the old computer and even flipped on the toggle about "Let windows try to fix apps so they're not blurry" and nothing. The only thing that has "fixed" both the blurriness and color dullness is increasing the scale of the second monitor to 125% but then everything is just too big. I included a screenshot of each and though the color doesn't look that different in the images it is drastic on screen. I shouldn't need to set it at 125% because it's always been at 100% and worked perfectly. I've searched different forums and checked my autocad's graphics configuration, computer's graphics properties, computer's display properties.

Please help because it's starting to drive me insane.screen 100.JPGscreen 125.JPG

Are you on a laptop, and this second monitor is simply plugged into it?
New Computer video card is...? new computer make/model is...?
What is your AutoCADLT year version?

Post a screenshot of the popups from ABOUT and GRAPHICSCONFIG command if you can.

Yes I am on an HP Pavilion X360 laptop with Intel core i5 and my 2nd monitor is an HP Pavilion 23CW monitor.

I am not sure about the video card so I also included a photo of the graphics info. I am using AutoCAD LT 2019autocad ABOUT.JPGautocad GRAPHICSCONFIG.JPGgraphics.JPG

Thanks for the screenshots and info.

Your LT2019 has missing updates: go get them from your Accounts log-in page's Updates link https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/all

You seem to only have a built-in on-board Intel video card, a minimum type spec, not a great choice but it is what it is. Try this: in GRAPHICSCONFIG command's pop-up, change ADVANCED MODE to one of the other two settings and see if that helps.

Ensure your Win10 is fully updated, and update your Intel video card driver using the Device Manager method explained here https://www.windowscentral.com/how-properly-update-device-drivers-windows-10

Neither of these solutions worked 😞 Looking at my old computer the Processor graphics in Use were different Intel HD Graphics 4000 and my new is Intel UHD Graphics 620. I don't know if this is making the difference?old computer graphics.JPG

How about if you turn off hardware acceleration?

A comment: your 'new' laptop seems to be a downgrade from your "old" computer, are you actually seeing improved performance on it (other than the blurry issue)?

Next thing to try: knock your resolution down from 1920 to the old 1366 and see if the blurry-ness goes away, change your scaling back to 150%

If that is no help, it might be time to contact your laptop manufacturer tech support to get this cleared up. There is nothing inside AutoCAD to address system hardware abilities.

Yes performance is a lot better and (other than autocad) graphics are improved. I will try the manufacturer's support. Thank you for your help!

I had the same problem. It was not a monitor issue or autocad issue. Go to your laptop display settings... under "SCALE AND LAYOUT" find "Change the size of the text, apps, and other items...  Select "100%".  My laptop was defaulting to 200%.

Thanks! This works for me!

My laptop was 125%  Screens 1 & 2 was 100%.

I changed laptop scale 100% and all blur lost from autocad.

Thank you very much for this solution! I started losing my mind as I couldn't find what was the cause of this.

Adding to your reply to this problem, I found out that you can exclude any single application from this Windows 10 setting without having to change it for the whole system.

On the application's "Properties" window, check the following setting:
"Compatibility" tab > "Change high DPI settings" > "High DPI scaling override"

This appeared to be rather useful to me as changing the Scale to 100% made everything appear too small for my monitor but I still had to use the application properly.

Hi Sooo I have the same issue and even though it does solve the problem to use a different text scale it also makes the whole program much larger. So what I mean is the inteface where you work is much smalles when setting the display scale to 100%.   See images below.

ctbekker01_0-1645715235316.pngctbekker01_1-1645715283642.png

As you can see the second picture has a much bigger ribben which makes the working space much smaller.

Is there a way around this or am I stuck with this?

@ct.bekker01 No fix if your two screens are that mismatched and you tried the tips already posted above your reply. Sorry.

for anyone else with this issue, first try setting screen 2 (the one connected to your laptop) as your main display
