AutoCAD asks about saving changed when closing a drawing

I open a drawing, zoom in and out to view it. When closing it, AutoCAD asks whether I want to save changes. I did not make any changes, just viewed it. How to avoid that question?

If you do anything in the file, anything, the program will ask you to save it. No way around it.

Open your file with a free viewer instead http://www.autodesk.com/products/dwg/viewers

Or create a CLOSE-NO-SAVE macro button to click on when you want to close a file without saving it https://forums.autodesk.com/autodesk/attachments/autodesk/520/11526/1/AU09_SpeakerHandout_CP214-1.pd...

But I did not do anything, I just viewed the drawings.

you did indeed do something: you changed the content location by zooming around.

This is not a semantics game, just AutoCAD reality. It makes little sense for most of us but it is what it is. Go get a viewer if you just want to look at files instead.
