Autocad 2017 LT crashes when I open a file exported from civil3d

Hello All,

I've bough a new PC ( i5 13600K, Ram 32GB, Windows 11 Pro ) but I'm having problems with Autocad LT 2017.
The graphics card is a PNY Quadro K2200 from the older pc.
I know that it's not supported on Windows 11, but I have other 2 PCs with Autocad 2017 LT installed and working fine with Windows 11 ( but the CPUs are older that the 13600K ).

In the new pc, Autocad works fine when creating a new file, but when I try to open a file precedently exported from civil3d, Autocad crashes.
If I open this files on the other PCs there are no problems.

What can I try to do? Thanks in advance.

Try to run it with the same working win user,

Or export your settings on working machine, import to the one with this problem.

Or repair-install

or deinstall/new install.

No error messages?

This does not rule out Windows 11. Until it is supported, issues are to be expected to come up at any time.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

So you either need to fix those files (use RECOVER command to open them), or ask the C3D user to not only "export to autocad" for you down to 2013DWG level, but to perhaps also run RECOVER/AUDIT then use.

It might or might not help if you already installed the 2017.1 update too (ABOUT command will confirm what you have). Either way, you need to be fully updated.

Thanks.
No error messages, and I've already tried a fresh reinstall.
I even installed Windows 10 rule out compatibility issues.

Yes, of course, but there is the same problem if I use Windows 10.

@emi_yusa Then...
1) C3D file was not exported back enough for your older software.
2) your older software just cannot handle C3D exports, which seems odd, but then again I'm not sure you installed this yet either https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/downloads/content/autocad-civil-...
3) I read recently someone having an issue that got fixed by "changing the display setting" which was very odd but seemed to work for them. Worth a shot or we can pretend that perhaps Win11 (or graphics engine there or something else no one in the year 2016 when R2017 came out considered) is not the culprit if you wish 😉

As always, you can share your problematic file(s) here for someone to test, there might be an R2017 floater around that can help you compare.

Good luck with it all.

Got fixed by "changing the display setting"?
I've never thought about that, I'll try, thanks.

P.s: Civil 3D 2017 Object Enabler is installed.
