Hi There,

Im looking for step by step how to insert a field on paper space that automatically gives page numbers. There is a lot of forums but i cant seem to work it out. For example Page (#) of (total # of layouts).. these # would automatically adjust on each page layout when a page is added, deleted or moved? Step by step for this simple guy would be amazing

Not possible in LT. It would probably be possible in full AutoCAD

A FIELD needs to reference something that has that information: in your case, what would that be and where that has that already defined? a FIELD is not the information creator, it simply replicates it.

Do you use Layouts? then explore getting into using SSM (SheetSet Manager) and explore the ability of FILED command to tap the information you enter there for Sheet Numbers.

Remember: Automation does require someone somewhere to predefine all the conditions for execution, and AutoCAD/LT is not going to know on its own how you and I and everyone else likes to number sheets.

The closest solution for this is the CTAB variable, or Sheet Sets, cannot be fully automated in AutoCAD LT. In the full AutoCAD version, you can use e.g. the PageOf utility - https://www.cadforum.cz/en/total-number-of-layouts-as-a-field-tip11171
